Study and practice group

The group meets on weekday evenings, and occasionally for a whole day at weekends, here at Freshfield Street. The evening or day includes guidance and practice on meditation and recitation as well as the study of various root texts and commentaries.

Facilitator: Larrie Gethin and other long term Chanteloube students.

Seminars

We run seminars twice a year with visiting teachers. These are open to the public and normally hosted in Brighton.

Ceremonies

Tsog offerings are held twice a month and on the anniversaries of the lineage teachers. Life release takes place regulary and the Buddhist festival days are honored.

Jhampa

Sister group to Maitrikara and is guided by a student of Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche.

Sussex University Buddhist Meditation
and Mindfulness society

This group is sponsored and run as a University Society by Sussex University students and is guided by a student from Maitrikara. Each session comprises shamatha-vipashyana (calm abiding - insight) meditation. At present the group is studying a text called "Start Where You Are" - a commentary on a Tibetan text called "the Seven Points of Mind Training",
